Q: Why choose Hillsborough Vacuum to have my carpets cleaned?
A: We use the most powerful and effective solutions to ensure the healthiest and most thorough cleaning you have ever received! A 10 step cleaning procedure is used for maximum soil removal, compared to the 2 step process our competitors use.

Q: How do i get my grout lines clean again?
A: By inviting us to use our self contained pressure washing system designed specifically for cleaning dirty grout lines. Years of grease and oil build up needs a professional grout cleaning to achieve that original color and “pop” to your grout.

Q: Why get my carpets professionally cleaned when i can rent a RugDoctor?
A: Our professional carpet cleaning equipment raises water temperatures above 240 degrees while a rental style machine will only be as hot as the tap water put inside the machine. Our steam cleaning uses water pressure up to 500 psi to remove embedded soil while rental style machines only operate at 40 psi. Our conditioner and rinse procedure leaves the carpet in a neutral state, which prohibits rapid re-soiling, while rental style machines do not neutralize leaving behind a sticky residue that new soil adheres to like glue. Also, our system extracts the water used at 350 cfm, leaving your carpets dry within a couple of hours. The rental style machines have a maximum of 80 cfm which leaves the carpet soaked, usually taking up to 24 hrs to dry, promoting mold growth. Most importantly, you have no idea where this rental machine was used before your house. Our company takes pride in using the most sanitized equipment before walking into each and every home.

Q: What is the best vacuum cleaner for me?
A: Unfortunately the perfect vacuum hasn’t been invented. Each home and cleaning situation is unique and may require a certain type of vacuum. Please visit either one of our 2 locations to speak to a floor care professional.

Q: Should I buy a Dyson vacuum cleaner?
A: The Dyson vacuum was NOT designed with performance and durability in mind, although the commercial on tv will lead you to believe this. The cost of national advertising, on prime time television, is a reflection of the cost of the machine and not the quality or construction.

Q: Where can i get my Dyson vacuum serviced?
A: If the machine is under the manufacturers warranty, then you must take it to an authorized warranty center or ship it back to Dyson in Chicago for service (you must pay the shipping of $60-$80). If the machine is not under warranty please feel free to bring the machine to us for service.

Q: What is the difference between all of the HEPA vacuums i see in different stores?
A: Today, almost every manufacturer describes their vacuum cleaners as HEPA. This description is for the filter itself, not the entire vacuum cleaner. The important thing to remember is that in order for the filter to do its job, all of the air must pass through the filter while running. The fact is, the vacuums found in big box chains (Walmart, Best Buy, Lowes, etc.) DO NOT have a sealed system. This means that dirty (unfiltered) air is exhausting back into your home every time you use it. Only a few select manufacturers have completely sealed systems (Miele, Simplicty). We proudly support these manufacturers and carry a full line of their products at both of our retail locations.

Q: What are the advantages of a central vacuum system?
A: A Beam central vacuum system has many distinct advantages to a portable vacuum cleaner. The central collection point is located in the garage or basement where all of the dirt is captured and then vented into that space or the outside of the house. This is a huge advantage for family’s that suffer from allergies. For more advantages please visit our Central Vacuum page.
